Pretreatment Systems

What is Pretreatment?

Pretreatment is the essential first stage in pharmaceutical water purification. It removes particles, microorganisms, organic matter, and hardness from incoming water sources, preparing it for further purification processes such as Reverse Osmosis, Distillation, or Ultrafiltration. The goal is to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and longevity of downstream systems.

Experience & Quality

With decades of experience in designing water treatment systems for the pharmaceutical industry, BRAM-COR ensures every pretreatment unit is built for precision, hygiene, and durability.
All components follow GMP guidelines and are constructed from certified materials such as AISI 316L/304 stainless steel, FDA-approved plastics, and sanitary-grade connections.

Certificates include:

CE Marking (EU compliance)

Material Traceability Certificates (EN 10204)

Welding Procedures (WPS, PQR, WPQ)

IQ/OQ Validation Support

Homemade Components

We design and manufacture key components in-house to ensure quality and integration. Below are standard elements included in most pretreatment lines:

Uvitron UV Reactor

  • Function: Disinfection via UV radiation to reduce microbial load

  • Description: Compact stainless-steel body, quartz lamp sleeve, electronic ballast

Addolcitori (Softeners)

  • Function: Removes calcium/magnesium to prevent scaling
  • Description: Automatic softeners with duplex resin tanks, regeneration cycle, and conductivity control

Filtri (Filters)

  • Function: Sediment, activated carbon, and fine filtration
  • Description: Cartridge and multimedia filters for suspended solids, chlorine, and organics

Offered Process Description

A typical BRAM-COR Pretreatment Line includes:

Filtration Stages

Coarse pre-filtration and fine filtration (1–5 micron) to remove suspended particles and sediments

Water Softening

Automatic softening system (Addolcitori) to eliminate water hardness

Chemical & Organic Removal

Activated carbon filtration and optional dosing systems for chlorine, chloramines, and pH control

Microbial Control

UV disinfection (Uvitron) to reduce microbial load and prevent bacterial contamination
